I just bought 2 Boker Congress Carvers. Both have one blade that does not open all the way. It is the same blade on both knives. When I strop this blade it closes. I think both knives are defective and would like to return them to Boker. Will there be a cost to fix or replace these 2 knives?

Where did you get them?
I cannot think, that we ship out knives, that do not open correctly.

BUT, I know, that there are some persons, who sell knives, which are "built" out of three knives...

So, it would be best, to contact the seller of it.

Normall,y if this is definitely a genuine Boker knife, a damaged knife will be repaired or exchanged for free. Just the shipping cost to had to be paid...

But, as I said again, fist contact the seller of it.

I'm going to ceck with the President on this one, as it is a special design.
I will update this later today.
Thanks, Terry

OK, I just got back from asking Dan W. about this one, and here is what he told me.
It was designed special by a wood carver named Len Yule. Mr. Yule wanted the knife to have the spey blade, but fit inside the frame of a regular congress, model 5464. In order to fit the spey blade in, they hade to grind the kick at this angle, so it opens in this manner. Apparently Mr. Yule was satisfied with this, and the design went forward in this manner.
Other than the odd open angle, it should perform properly.
If you have a worry about it, send it in, and let me look at it.
Thanks, Terry
