Question about restoring my brush axe.

I have brush axe to restore and the handle looks like an axe handle. However, the current handle lacks a kerf cut. Can I use a properly sized new axe handle with a kerf cut? Or will I have to find a kerfless axe handle?

Use it. You could just fill the kerf in with wood anyway.

You can use a kerfed handle. I think House Handle may sell a pickeroon handle that isn't kerfed.

Cool. I can get Link handles locally and I wanted to make sure that I could use them the kerf. I guess I can take the included wedge and make it into a solid filler piece.
Ugh, too tired to think. Any suggestions for getting the rusted and stuck bolt loose?

For the stuck bolt, try spraying some PB Blaster on it. Can find it at most home improvement stores, and I believe china mart sells it. If you have access to Kroil, I highly recommend it.
