question about sand getting caught up.

I always wanted to take my sebenza with me when i go surf fishing , but was always afraid of sand getting caught between the washers and the blade. Is this possible or is the fit so tight that nothing can get in there?

I've carried mine on the beach and in the water with no ill affects. No sand in the washers, no rust. Just rinse it in fresh water afterwards.

Mine stayed clipped to my pocket and suffered no ill effects from a day sliding down the rocks and swimming at Slide Rock Park in Sedona:

Even with precision tolerances. I've had grit in mine that was audible when opening/closing it. The beauty of the Seb however (preaching to the choir is my forte), is that unlike most other folders, its ability to easily be disassebled and cleaned is as much a part of its functionality as cutting.

So grit it up!
