A local store has several of the Chinese-made Schrade Boy Scout commemorative trappers from 2010 that they'e clearing out. I could pick one up for about $15, but I don't know if they will gain any value in the future being Chinese crap. What do you guys think? They're going for $25-35 on sleezebay right now.

Gain any value? This forum is really more geared towards the discussion Schrade USA knives, not the investment potential of a cheap replica. I will pose the question though, does "going for" mean listed or sold? That might tell you why someone is trying to unload one for $15.00.

Most modern "Commemorative" knives and other Boy Scout souvenirs are so common and mass-produced that they likely will not appreciate in value. That's my opinion.

No one can predict the future though.

There will always be a limited market for Scout memorbilia. But like most collectibles, it has to really be rare, or quite old to have any real value. I collect some Scout items for sentimental, not $$$$ reasons. Even though I was very stoked about 2010 and have a few items I chose to pass on the knives. It just seemed like to much sacrilege to me. This advice has been posted many, many times but it is worth repeating every so often. Collect what you LIKE. If there is value to it, that is just a perk.
