Question about Sebenza carbon fiber inlays

Had the opportunity to hold some of the new Sebenza 25's with carbon fiber inlays (bladeHQ exclusive) and noticed the carbon fiber was more dull than photos I've seen from previous versions. Seems like older carbon fiber inlays had more of a polished look... the ones I held today did not appear to have any polish on them... has anyone noticed this? Can you polish those carbon fiber inlays to make them appear more shiny?

Big_Tex,

The first photos are about 2 minutes of polishing with 3M 1 micron polishing paper.

The next are after a couple minutes more with Dan Chinnock Ivory polishing boards on the white 25,000 grit side.

They can definitely be polished up a bit but just not sure how much.

I have both the 21 and 25 versions of them and they both have the matt finish compared to the original, which had a polished finish on the inlays:

Why is the half of the locking side so dark on all the inlays idk if I'm a fan of it but don't know why it's darker

All the wood/Carbon fiber inlays has the sandblasted lock bar and satin scale.
Only Micarta's inlays have all sandblasted lock side scale

Why though? IMO It would look so much better if it was all satin

My guess is the bead blasted surface is part of the retention with the pocket clip. If that were satin it would lose a significant amount of grip on most any fabric.
