I am starting to sell lanyards and zipper pulls with bullets on them that I drill out and make myself.
I was just wondering if I am required to have a knifemaker/craftsman/service provider membership in order to sell these since I make them myself.
I don't make knives, just these few little items. I just don't want to get in trouble for doing something wrong on here.

Here is the sales thread below for reference.

Thanks,
Jason :D

You're OK in that forum.

As a general rule of thumb, if the subforum will let you post there, it's alright.

As a general rule, if you haven't been caught, it's all right. :p
But ... Rules for the Exchange forums say ( http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=699&a=98 )

SECTION 1- Membership levels
BladeForums.com is supported by members who have paid subscriptions, as such, only certain membership levels may advertise items for sale on this site.

3. KNIFEMAKER / CRAFTSMAN / SERVICE PROVIDER (hearafter referred to as "Knifemaker") - Knifemaker's are allowed to sell items that they have personally created or modified in the KnifeMaker For Sale forums, or their own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum. If you are a knifemaker and would like your own Hosted KnifeMaker Forum, please contact us.

If you made it or modified it, you need a Knifemaker / etc. membership to sell it, and sell it in the Knifemakers Market.

You were caught; I saw the ad. Neat work. I don't like to hit a hobbyist up for a Knifemaker membership when they are starting out and may not keep up the work. But if you are looking at the $60 a year the membership costs, it's time to consider upgrading. Your remaining Gold time will be prorated onto the new membership, so you won't lose it. And if you were thinking of continuing at least as a Gold member, the Knifemaker is extra, not an entirely new amount.

Thanks,

Jason, if you are selling wares and crafts that you build yourself then you must have a knifemaker/craftsman/service provider membership.
A gold membership only permits you to sell items you happen to own...not build or create.

Until such time as you upgrade, you may not sell or advertise either directly or via signature or homepage link.

Thanks for asking.

EDIT:

Looks like Esav beat me to the "send" button. Curses, foiled again! ;)

That's what I thought, glad I asked before I got dinged, lol.
Thanks for the quick responses and I will upgrade my membership before selling any more of these.
Have a great weekend:thumbup:

I just came in from a quiet stroll on a beeyootiful day, fixed myself a cheese sandwich, and settled in to the keyboard. In a good mood.

By the way, does anyone know why half this freaking town is wearing green today? :D

So, I pay $60 now for the knifemaker and then the remaining time from my gold is added to the knifemaker and my gold is cancelled?
Sorry to be a pest, just making sure.

Correct. You'll need to start a new post in this subforum asking Spark to pro-rate the gold membership.

Well done, Jason. You look good in red.

orange makes me see red
