Question about sheaths

I see a lot of belt sheaths for the 5 in folding knives and and tools but never any for the smaller knives like the 97's or the trapper I do see some trappers with them for sale making one wouldn't be a problem but the logo would be

The smaller size sheaths seemed to lose popularity pretty quick. (If they ever were popular at all) I think Schrade must have realized they were just adding to their costs giving people tiny sheaths for pocket-knives that never got used. LB-3 is a good example. It originally came with a "cute" little sheath the same as the other bigger LB series models but really why the hell would you want to put a small 3" pocket-knife in a sheath? Sometimes you do see those small size sheaths but only about mid-eighties and older. Therefore there are a lot more Schrade knives alone out there of any smaller-sized models than small knife and sheath sets.

I can understand the savings but not having to dig around in my pocket for my trusty 97 is a plus for me personally, thanks for the explanation

No worries and no need to explain. Personal preference. No "right way" to think about this. For me if I prefer a bigger knife on my belt cause I don't feel it's weight there and I wear cargo-pants and shorts a lot so I got lots of pockets. My front right pocket tends to have a knife and nothing else in it so it's easy to find and doesn't get scratched up by change or keys etc. At the same time I made sure my LB-3 came with it's correct black and tiny sheath. It's nice to have options... Originally I considered buying just any LB-3 and search for sheath separately. I will share that in six months of looking on eBay I saw only one 3" Schrade sheath offered up by itself and it was a second. Good luck! Let me know how the search goes.
