Question about shields and shield styles

Hey everyone, the traditional bug has bit me bad, and I've been really enjoying learning about different patterns and materials in traditional knives. I wanted to know if anyone had a good source for learning about different shield styles? Simple google searches haven't found me much.

Don't know if it'll help, but the catalog stickie at the top has quite a few different styles used over the last 100 plus years.
