Ok I am tossed between these 2 particular guns.

30.4 Ounces w/mag

Ok so I like the look of both these 45's. The only thing that concerns me is the weight.
The Elite Dark weighs in at 30.4 Ounces and the Elite Stainless weighs in at 39.1 Ounces.

Being that they are both the shorter barrel Carry versions, how much difference will 9 Ounces make in regards to recoil?

The gun will not be used to conceal carry ever, will be primarily a range gun/open carry woods gun.

Which pistol do you like better in terms of looks.

Thanks to all who answer

Although I cannot quantify it, I have to believe the extra 9 oz would certainly help recoil. I mean that is a 30% increase in weight. That said, I would think they both would shoot pretty smoothly. I do like the look of the SS a little better even though the black one looks very much like my P228 and I love that one.

Personally, I don't think Sigs recoil that much, and 45 out of a fullsize-ish gun doesn't really either. Again, IMO.

Sig stainless guns look great, but, HEAVY, for what they are. I like the stainless look but personally I'd buy something with an alloy frame

I agree with slim on the weight/recoil of the 2. That wouldn't be a factor for me personally. Aesthetically, I like both, but I'm partial to the dark elite. I have a 229 dark elite myself.

You mention this is to be a woods gun. Did you see they're releasing the 220 in 10mm this year?

I have 220 full size in 45, fits me great and handles awesome. One of my favorite 45s. I think the carry holds 1 less round. I'm guessing ss cost more so I would go with black an buy more ammo
