I understand that the blue color of the regular thumblug on Sebenzas is anodized. How about the silver titanium thumblug? Is it also anodized or the natural color?

i thought they were just silver anodized, i know anodizing does more that just as color , its provides a layer of protection . I understand black and blue as to be the thickest and hardest. I think yellow and orange are thinner. you may want to do some research on anodizing and let us know what you find.

mstag - titanium polishes up like a nice steel. I believe that anodization can only give it oxide hues that are not "silver".

I checked with the Chris Reeves shop about two weeks ago and was told that the silver is polished titanium.

I found the thumb stud a bit too sharp for me so I filed off the tip[now it's silver and blue !] I did the same for my new large sebenza. But today I found that the blade had opened in my pocket apparently from the keys hitting the stud. So I cut down the stud another layer. Safer now and no problem opening it when I want to .No this is not a sin ! It's known as customizing it for me.

Is it possible to get the thumblug and backspacer in colors other than silver, gold and blue? I'm just asking because my Almamater's colors are purple and gold and I would love to get a Sebbie with a purple backspacer ( maybe even a purple bushing) and a gold thumblug. :D ;)

I wish chris had a custom color option for thumb blugs and spacers....am i alone is this or would other perfer say...red???? what colors would you make your spacer and blug ..???

You can order custom backspacers but they are pretty much to Chris' design, not your own. I have fluted gold spacers with blue facets on the points of the flutes around the edges. My thumbstuds are also gold.

I emailed Chris Reeve about the silver thumblug. They replied that silver is the natural color, not anodized.

Sounds interesting, could you post some pics?
