question about speed bump

hi i just bought a black handle speed bump. the blade on this knife is WICKED.

my question is about the stud lock. its a bit loose when the knife is closed, is this how its supposed to be? it locks up perfectly tight when open, but loosens when its closed. pardon the ignorance.
 
The stud should seem a bit loose when the knife is closed. A small spring should be keeping it near the rear end of its keyway though. The stud needs to be able to move freely to clear the corner of the shelf that it engages when it locks.

Its a great knife! Enjoy it.
