Question about Sword Brand MK2

Please excuse my newbie ignorance. About twelve years ago I bought a Camillus fixed blade knife at an extate sale in Bladwinsville NY. The knife is marked "U.S. (0ver) Camillus N.Y." at the base and has the Sword Brand logo on the blade itself. The knife has all the traits of a Mark II fighting knife except that it is a high polished (chrome plated?) blade. My guess is that the blade is chromed rather than stainless because there is some minor pitting on the finish. The sheath is plain leather without any of the telltale markings that would identify it as a recent reproduction. The only history I have is that is was purchased from a table of Camillus pocket knives (Actually, I bought the whole table just to iritate the person behind me at the sale) so the original owner was either a collector of former employee of the Camillus plant.

Do any of you collectors know any thing about the history of this model?

Thank you in advance.

Camillus did make a knife like the one that you described. Known as the model #1009 "Trailblazer", this knife featured a 7" blade (not parkerized), milled leather handle, serpentine guard, Sword Brand blade etch and a brown leather sheath. This model was offered from the late 1960's through the early 1990's. Your knife has the tang stamping "U.S." over "CAMILLUS,N.Y." which was used until 1974.
