I was wondering if that furnace would be worth the $50+? bid amount plus $175.00 shipping. We have a forge but don't have anything to heat treat with except our oven in the kitchen.I really need a 2"x72" belt grinder.Should I skip the furnace and get a grinder?I am getting $600 back income tax and would really like to add something to our knife making equipment with it or at least part of it.Just about bought a new 2"x42" craftsman but was afraid I would be dissapointed with it.Oh by the way I am sending a money order out in the morning for the Alan Blade flat grinding and heat treating videos.I will get the other two at a later date. Thanks Ric

I would pass on that oven on ebay. Use the forge to heat treat. buy a couple books with info or search the archives on blade forum.A portable oven would work pretty good to temper with.my cent and 1\2

Don't know how big the one on ebayis but I use a toaster oven to temper everything up to one foot. Cost 2 bucks at a yard sale.

Thanks,I think I will pass, and I did mean temper not heat treat. This site is a great help.I think I will look into a coote 2"x72"I like the idea I could use an old beater motor till I get a good one. Thanks again,Ric
