Question about the 885 UH

Were the Uncle Henry 885s made using swinden construction like the Old Timer line? I recently picked up an 885 with the Schrade + over USA 885 stamp and as I was slipping it into my pocket I noticed that I can clearly see the pins within the bolsters. I have also noticed that the spey seems to be a little bit oddly shaped but it is obvious it is an unused knife. I'll post pics later, but wanted to throw this question out there while it was fresh on my mind. Thanks in advance as always.

Chuck, at least some of the 885UH were assembled by Camillus. Camillus did not have the Swinden machinery. I have a copy of the "S Card" for that knife courtesy of Tom WIlliams, former Camillus historian. It is dated with a sample date of 2-13-86.

Thanks for the help Michael. Attached are a few pics. Sorry for the poor quality, I tried to take them inside on the kitchen counter just to get some to put in the post.

Notice the spey is more round at the end. All of my other Schrades have a more pronounced turn up toward the tip of the blade on the speys

This one shows the uneveness in the springs on the bottom side. If this were sitting on a table, you would see a definite lean to one side.

If you look closely you can see the outline of the pin in the bolster.
