I picked up a Buck Odyssey over the weekend and I noticed several differences from other models. First, the pivot pin has a "waffle" pattern and looks like you can adjust the tension with a torx screw. Second, the model # 186 is gone as well as the date marker. Under the Buck name there is the image of an anvil, and underneath the image are the letters (U.S.A.). Is the Anvil the new date marker for 2002?

Hey, I saw that on a model 119 today, and the package said the anvil is their 2002, 100th anniversary marking. And I didn't see 119 on the tang, either. Finally, the blade was etched, too. I think it said 1902-2002, or something like that. Pretty cool. Looks like I'm going to have to free up some spare knife money for some of this year's Bucks.:D

THe date code for 2002 has been replaced with the little anvil. This anvil will also replace the model number for this year. The new stamping will be BUCK, anvil, U.S.A.
Hope this helps,
