If you happen to own one, would you do me a favor and tell me the length of the cutting edge on the "wharnfoot" (or, if you prefer, "sheepscliffe") blade?

Most appreciated!

Yes, it's a Moore Maker Jumbo Stockman. It's similar to the Dixie Stockman except a little bigger and beefier.

Yes, sir.

L to R: GEC 66, Moore Maker 5503, Case TB3339 CV, Buck 301, GEC 81, GEC 53, GEC 82, Moore Maker 5304

I think you should get one! They look particularly good in wood, the blade selection is interesting and despite being a large knife it's remarkable for its sleekness.

Here's the Northfield version in Blackwood.

Never had a folder that big, and was wondering how comfortable/handy it would be. I do like the blade selection!

I'm no fan of a large pocket-knife either, unless I'm carrying it in a winter-coat. But these Dixies are nowhere as hulking as a CASE Large Stockman or some big Trapper so you could well be surprised. Very nice in the hand and I don't have big hands at all, really comfortable in use. Wood adds to the svelte feel and the blade selection is certainly alluring, just a really beautiful knife. Need I say more....:D

A shot in hand for reference. It really fits nicely in hand and pocket. As Will said, it is sleek. It carries smaller than its size would indicate.

OK, you've convinced me! Ordered a Blackwood example (which will also be my first wood-scaled knife.)
