Question about the H1 knives

I see that Spyderco advertises the blade material as rust proof, but are the other metal components (pivot, lockback, screws, etc) on the H1 knives also rust proof?

Thanks,
Jason.

IIRC, rustproof material for springs and screws are easier to find(probably cheaper too) than a rustproof material that's good enough for a knife blade.

One thing that's cool is the pocket clip on the H1 Salt for instance is titanium but also fits other spyderco knives with the same pattern pocket clip. I ordered up a couple extra as I like the titanium more than the steel for the anti rust factor.

Since it's a barrel bolt pocket clip, those other knives are probably limited to Delica/Endura third generation, C14/C45 Rescue or C21 Merlin, but if you have one of those models, the clips will probably fit.

I use my Salt 1 as a snorkeling/dive knife and EDC in tropical and marine environments. There have been times when it's come out of the ocean and been left wet in my gear for hours then dried without rinsing. No rust other than a tiny bit of corrosion in the "H1" etching on the blade that cleaned right off the first time and has not come back. Not the sexiest knife in the world, but if I had to give up all my Spydercos except one, this would probably be the keeper.

The logo rusting is from contamination when manufacturing.Once cleaned off it should not happen again.

Erm quick question guys. My Salt I (black frn plain edge) doesn't have the H1 logo on it?
Any idea why not? Lol

The early H1 knives did not have any logos on the blade.

I love the salts. I have a Salt 1 and a Pacific. Great for humid climates, traveling, exercising outdoors and the beach.
