Question about the Harpy

I'm looking at the pictures of the Harpy on Spyderco's site, and I've got a question about the edge. It looks like the one with the metallic handle has roughly a quarter inch of non-serrated blade at the tip, while the one with the nylon resin handle is serrated all the way to the tip? Is that right, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

i think your eyes are playing tricks. i'll be able to tell you for sure soon, i have a lightweight coming from mike's sale!
 
Speaking of Mike's sale, I see that he's listing both Harpys and Merlins. I believe the Merlins have Zytel, but does anyone know which handle material the Harpys have?

I just ordered a SS-handled Harpy from forum member Jailhack, and he informed me that the G-10 Harpies are discontinued, although there are still some in circulation. The SS-handled ones will continue on.

I have a G-10 Harpy I bought at the sale from SMK. It has a small section at the tip that is unserrated. It measures about 1/2 inch according to my $6.98 Leatherman Micra. I've been carrying it in the front pocket of my overalls and never notice it until I need it. You know, the front pockets up on your chest (the bib I believe). Of course I usually carry a serrated Military up there as well since you just never know when some brush is going to need to be removed.

G-10 Harpy on closeout at Smokey Mtn. Knife Works - 1-800-251-9306. Item # SPC08GS at $42.99. Worth it. Actually worth more!

Last I heard they still had some. They also have G-10 Standards and G-10 Rookies.
