Question about the LE knives

I am looking for another large LE to go with my redwood burl; first choice being spalted maple and second box elder. But with all this fantastic damascus pics showing up, I think it is time to place an order for next Xmas.

I would like to know when how do you know the wood choices for the next year's LE's, how long does Damascus add to the order, and is it possible to make your own choice of wood (say bird's eye maple).
 
You Will Have No Choice, The Wood & Damascus Is Selected By CRK
The Only Choice You Have Is Large Or Small, They Produce 60 Of Each Every Year.
 
So when do we place our order, and do you pay up front and wait a year, or do you pay a deposit and pay the rest when it is made?
 
When ordering you do not place a deposit. You simply wait until the knife is complete then pay 100%.
 
You'll have to contact CRK and see if you can place an order for the next batch. They will contact you when the knife is ready and you pay for it then. The last few years I've been contacted in the late summer/early fall with a choice of woods and received the knives around the Holidays.
 
I will contact them and do so. It is hard to pick between LE and a damascus, but the lead time will allow me to stock away some more funds...
 
No dice on ordering an annual with damascus, but I put my name on the list for a 2011 and am going to order a box elder if I cannot find a spalted. I just love the annuals!
 
I Just Called CRK, There Will Probably Be No More Damascus On Annuals.
You Can Still Get Damascus & Ivory On The Other Knives, Its Just That The Waiting Time Is So Low.................
 
Finally found a spalted online but they don't take Amex! Had to settle for a large Box Elder which should be here early next week. I have officially been bitten by "the bug".

I just pulled the trigger on one, It's ships tomorrow, Will be here monday........

I will post some pictures of it along with the 2008 LE with damascus & ivory that came today. (My Pay-Pal Is Smokin)

I ordered mine yesterday from a dealer, should be here Monday as well.

Here is the only one at the moment. 2009 Large annual with Thuya wood.
