Hallo everybody, I am new here. I bougth a Lawman 3 weeks ago (my first Cold Steel) and I must say I am impressed, very impressed. Fit and finish are great and the lock up is superb. When closed there is absolut zero movement. Outstanding. Coming from the Sebenza and 3 XM-18 I know what I am talking about.

So the next one on my list was the Mini Recon 1. Again perfect in every detail. There is one thing I want to know and that is that the lock is great but I can get a little movement in this knife. Do not get me wrong I say movement and not play!!! If I apply some force on the blade (downwards) I can feel the lockbar moving a tiny little bit. It comes up just a little if I wiggle the blade. Again, this is no play but movement. Is this common? Is it because the lockbar is smaller and the spring is easier to unlock in contrary to the Lawman maybe? I know there is nohing to worry about so I am just checking. Maybe someone could try their Mini Recon to check this please?

To the people from Cold Steel I would say keep up the good work!!!!!
My two knifes are the sharpest I ever had, suberp.

Hmmm. How long have you had it? It might not just be mating very well. In which case it should break in with a little wear. I would would run it without lube and see if that helps in a week or two.

Also take a look inside (might have to take it apart) and check for tiny burrs or pieces of G10 leftover from.the manufacturing process. It wouldnt take much to throw it off.

Worst case scenario i am sure CS would be happy to have a look at it for you.

Yes, it takes time for a lockback system to wear in.

There will be a little wiggle room, but it should go away.

The best thing to do is use it as much as possible.

It is going to be different for every knife.
