Question about the MTECH XTREME MX-8062

I just bought one of these knives and was wondering if anyone out there could tell me what the long cord on the sheath is for? I got the leg strap figured out - duh - but that long cord with the friction stop has me stumped...

Is this the knife?

Well I have the Mtech thats off of Call Of duty Ghosts. That cord is most likely for extra paracord for use in an emergency or if you want to put a hand lanyard on the knife.

Yep. Just spare cordage would be my guess, too. That seems to be a "thing" nowadays. I guess one can never have too much paracord? :D

edit: Speaking of the one featured in CoD, I thought it was hideous when I first saw it, but the design has grown on me. It still doesn't look practical for much of anything, but that hasn't stopped me before (:p). How do you like yours?

I love it! Has nice G10 scales, nice feel and balance to it. Overall, its a good buy. Ive seen a photo of the things lodged into wood! Must be tough.

The spare cord isn't para cord but more like a long, thick shoestring or draw cord. And honestly, I bought it because I wanted another sheath knife and liked the one from "Ghosts," so I did a quick search, found it and bought it! So far I'm impressed with the quality, but haven't used it in the field yet.

I think mine is the older one. It's the same one used in Halo 4. It definitely lacks quality, but it makes up for it in brute strength. I won't go into details, but I tried to break this knife but couldn't. It's a sharpened pry bar and has a permanent residence in my collection despite being the most gaudy and cheapest fixed blade I own. The POS that could.

Yeah! That's right, its also used in Halo 4! I had gotten the knife specifically due to it being in CODG. While searching it up a little bit, people also said it was used on Halo 4. 2 for one I say! I collect knives off of movies and shooter games. I also just collect knives because of their reputation and or uses. I'm a HUGE knife collector and also a HUGE gamer haha.

For swinging the knife around your head as you charge into battle.
That made me lol pretty good.

Or to hang oneself from the embarrassment of owning an Mtech. Either way, win win. :D
Joking of course.
