Question about the new 2750 (Auto) version Adamas.

I heard that when the manual Adamas knives were being made, they were just black with a tan coating. I also read that this coating would wear off leaving a tan/black knife.

My question is: Are the newer ones the same way? Also, what about the Tan auto version?:thumbdn: ?

Can anyone confirm or deny the post above?
I would really appreciate it. I don't want to buy one just to have the tan coating flake off leaving it black underneath.

OK, so before I ordered today, I called BM. They told me it is the black model with the tan color "baked on."
This is just info for anyone contemplating a tan Adamas purchase. :)

I haven't scratched my 2750 up enough, yet. Need to spend more time out in the woods messing with it been stuck in the city where autos are illegal to carry. All blades are just coated black, the tan handles are actually black g10 just coated for color.

This came up a couple of years ago for the first time, with the 710-801 that had black scales under the OD green coating; later photos showing the knive(s) under hard use the black underneath did and does show. When it's an option to use solid colored G-10 I'll never understand the choice of going with a painted on coating...I'll simply opt for basic black myself.

My sentiments exactly. Why would they basically "paint" G-10?
Surely they could get their hands on some tan G-10. Seems pretty cheap to me? I've got a 581 on the way. (tracking info says it was sent to the wrong place.) I'm also am about ten minutes from picking up a black/gray handled Rift, and a digi camo military with black blade, on both. :)

This is the reason why I own a black and not a tan Adamas. I don't understand why they would coat G10 or how it economically would make sense for BM.I am sure there is a reason behind this decision, but it boggles my mind............Good knife for the money and will last a lifetime. I doubt the Tan coating will look aesthetically pleasing to me after long period of EDC and use.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

The only reason I could come up with was one of the employees watched a couple too many nutnfancy duracoat videos.
