question about the resting position of the blades when closed

hi all:

i am in posession of a CQC 7B-BTS with wave and a mini commander. both of which I absolutely love as utilitarian and very sharp.

Today i was looking over the mini commander, and I noticed that the blade seems to come in contact with the inner side of the the back liner, basically it's when i close the blade, the blade hits the black lining that is perpendicular to it.

So I was thinking, since that's the position that the knife rests in, would that ruin the sharp edge of the blade that came pretty darn sharp from the factory? I mean, the knife sees a lot of pressure and i was just worried that the sharp edge would become dull from the contact. AM i just being paranoid? I thought th knife would be better off if the blade were suspended away from the lining?

Thanks.

Nick

You can disassemble the knife and press the ball bearing detent in a bit. This is the one with the cut on it. Use a pencil to do it and the eraser end of it. Also put it on a hard flat surface when doing so. Sometimes just taking it apart and cleaning it will help also. Or you can adjust the pivot screw on it. Tighten it up a bit. Or you can bend the knife in the center of the scales you know try and flex it in your hand a bit, not alot though. I have done this on BM's I have owned a few other liner locks and it is a quick fix to this. If all else fails send it to me and I will use it as is :D Hope all this helps, keepem sharp
