Question about the Sebenza 25 stop pin

Hey guys,

Quick question about the sebenza 25 stop pin. The sebenza 25 that I had when they were first released had the pressed fit stop pin. Have they done away with this? I might be mistaken but I think I remember someone talking about this. If this is the case, I was wondering how it affects assembly, specifically aligning the flat spot on the stop pin. On the pressed fit stop pin on the 25 I had, there was a little flat spot on the stop pin that would always be aligned correctly because the stop pin was press fit. If there is in fact a removable stop pin now on the 25, is there still a flat spot on the stop pin and if so, how do you go about aligning this to the correct position. Thanks guys!

Yes still a flat spot. The first batch had the press fit stop pin. Then it was changed right after the first batch. I've got both. The newer one, the stop pin will come out. You have to mark it somehow to get the flat spot in the correct position. If not, you won't be able to close the blade. I learned from trial and error with the first re assembly. It took me several tries. I now use a fine point sharpie mark the position

Ok cool Thanks for the quick response. Also, is the assembly process the same as the 21? I had my 25 for only a couple of months before I had to sell it for financial reasons. I'm ready to buy another, and am glad to see that they have a Micarta version now. Looks pretty awesome.

Somewhat, you can sandwich it together. One of the washers has a tab on. You have to be careful not to bend the tab. It can be over tightened, making it hard to open. Otherwise it goes back together smoothly

If you ever have problems with it let me know, I'm close to Indy and could help you out.

Sorry, another question.

Do you locktite the handle screws and pivot everytime you take it apart and reassemble the 25?

Anyone know of a good video or instruction on how to assemble this knife? I"m assuming you just sandwich it together since you cannot slide the blade and washers in like on the 21's. I guess I could always call Chris Reeve knives.

Sandwich method for the 25. With the 21 you slide the blade with washers and pivot bushing into the assembled handle.

With the 25 you will need to align the flat spot of the pivot pin so the blade can rotate without hitting the pin. It is not hard to see how it needs to align when you put it together. Use a little purple Loctite on the pivot and you are good to go.

Awesome, thanK's man. Sucks, I had to sell all my sebenza's (large and small 21, and a 25) but was able to save up again. Think I'm gonna do a large 21 first and then a 25. I think the 25 is amazing, but for anyone who loves CRK knives, I think you have to have a 21 and 25.
