Question About Uneven Blade Edge

I am a very loyal Benchmade customer and have many of their knives. I recently bought the 810 Contego and noticed the sharp edge on the blade is very uneven. There is very little edge on the bottom of the blade, but a lot of edge near the belly/ curve of the blade, and then less of an edge near the tip. Also, one side of the blade is sharpened at a different angle of the other side of the blade. Is this normal or grounds for using the warranty work? All of my other Benchmades have perfect edges on them. Thanks for you help.

Hi AR - they grind the blades by hand and the tech may have messed that one with so many to do in a day. I don't like uneven edges either for what these cost us. Your knife is covered under lifetime warranty, so if you don't have the tools to correct it send it up. Should you choose to do that wrap the knife carefully and mail it via the shipper of your choice insured - and here's the link to the repair form you should fill out and include with the 810.

Good luck!

Had the same problem with a 950 Rift and Benchmade took care of it immediately. Great customer service.

I should've mentioned this for newbies; Do not send the knife up in the original box, just wrap it carefully.

Thank you both for your help. I'm going to send it in, so Ill give an update when I get it back.
