I saw the a few demo video’s about the replacement of Victorinox scale's. I have a few question about it. I have a Vic One-Hand Trailmaster/Trekker (OHT) 2006 model and a One-Hand-Forester (OHF) 2010/2011 model. I want to swap the scales of the two models so the OHF has the black scales with tweezers and OHT with red/black rubbery ones.

Can the scales of the 111mm models be removed and re-used?
Is the scale swap between the OHT and OHF possible? Are there any technical chances between the years 2006 and 2011 that maybe cause problems?

I'm looking forward to your answer's!

Not sure about the OTH models but I spoke to a guy that swaps scales a lot on the regular models and the scales are press fit. He said that you can reuse them but most of the time they will not last. Hope this helps. BTW he is replacing them with brand new scales from Vic if that matters much.

they can be reused but sometimes the snap on fit is gone = the manufacturer say its better to use new ones. it depends on how you remove them and what kind of scales they are.

the 111mm liner lock scales are outside mainly the same, the rivet part is the same too but inside there are some differences between the scales that usually dont matter. of course some have an clip and some have an cutout for the corkscrew/philips and some dont.

if you run into an problem, go see the next victorinox autorised store for help. for the adress you could email swiss army brand.

hope that helps.

The OHT scales are black plastic ones and the OHF are the red/black rubbery ones. Both have a cutout for the corkscrew/philips.

Is there a other way to remove them besides gently using a thin knife between the scale and frame?

if the snap fit is gone i assume glue can be used. Is there any specific glue recommended?
