Question About Warranty

I've been interested in the Busse family of knives for a while but have held off due to the price. Seeing the Hairy Carry just over 100$ has got me wanting to sell some folders and go for one.

I did have a question regarding warranty though. I tend to reprofile my knives to extremely acute angles (Link) and was wondering how this would affect the warranty? If I get small chips in the edge from going to thin and using the knife hard I understand that's my own doing, and I wouldn't try to send a knife in for that, I'd just grind it a little thicker and keep using it.

In the unlikely event that something more extreme happens, for example batoning the knife through a small chunk of wood to split for a fire and the blade breaks in half, would the warranty still cover it?

Also, if you have other models you'd recommend over the Hairy Carry let me know. I'm trying to keep it under 150$ and the blade length between 3.5 and 6 inches.

Reprofiling does not affect the warranty as long as it is done by hand or another means that wouldn't affect the heat treat.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick response. I do all my work by hand so it sounds like I'd be good.

About a year ago, you could have picked up a RatManDu from the store for about what you're looking to spend. The RMD handles fit my hand perfectly and I like the larger size. However, that was then and you'd have to pay a bit more on the Exchange for one now. Lots of folks love the HC, perhaps you will to. You won't find anyone nicer to deal with than Eric.

dude, eric is da man! oh yeah and .........................................................

NO REGRETS!!!:D
