Question About Wicked Edge

I have my mind set on the notion of pimping a Wicked Edge. (sure I don't own yet, but why not dream about saddles before you get a horse?)

Why stop at two grits per assembly? 3,4 or 5 would be easily doable.

Price 6,000 grit WE stones, and you can see a set of SharpMaker rods, in a proper jig, would be a great tool.

Who here wants to help me collaborate on pimping out the design of a Wicked Edge, to boost performance, increase usability, increase length of media, and make a better mousetrap?

Honestly improving it really isn't possible. Adding more stones on each handle is useless since it takes less than 5 seconds to go to the next grit. Just sounds like a waste of time and money to me but go for it. I'm not sure how you can add 5 grits to something 4 sided.

You are talking about removing the lip that protrudes out beyond each side of the stones. Said lip is what keeps the finger tips from being positioned out in the danger zone.

I wish the stones were actually wider and went to the edge of the holder. Then no problems getting into tight spots like my pm2 and your hands are safe.

Many of the good things that we enjoy in life today had their origin in the hands of a curious man looking for a better way. Keep us all posted on your progress.:)

I agree with having it go to the edge. There are a lot of my kitchen knives that I can't sharpen to the edge because of the bolster. I bought my WE used and the original owner cut the extra plastic off of the stones. I am happy he did it.
