I just got a ratmandu infi with ash wood scales.... Beautiful. Is there a need to oil the wood periodically or is it safe to do so with mineral oil? Iv never had a wood handled knife so not sure how this would affect it or what the proper care is

Thanks

I believe that the wood is stabilized so no need to oil it but I'd shoot the shop an email to be sure. Garth will tell you.

The wood is stabilized, I've never had a need to oil any of my wood handles. They have all held up beautifully on their own.

I try to keep oil off my wood.....oh...sorry....ummmmmm wait....wrong conversation......:foot::D

With stabilized wood there is no need for oil to maintain the wood. However like mentioned above it can bring out the colors pretty good especially if you have handled it a bit. Kind of cleans and revitalizes the looks.
