Hey all
today I bought a large brush knife called a woodsman's pal, this one is rather old, most likely 50's or 60's and it looks just like the vietname era type IV survival Ax. It has the leather washer handle and red painted D typle cutlass type gaurd. its marked woodsman's pal TM. Oley PA. pat no. is 19547. I found the woodsmans pal websight and its listed as the delux model, and it list for 60$ how much is a some what used older model worth???

by the way this is my first post, I got sent over here from the Ak-47 forum, and you guys have a great forum also. I have always loved knives and I am a blacksmith,I have been known to make a knife or two.
thanks alot everyone.

There was an article about these in Tactical Knives a few years back. If I remember, they do go back to the Viet Nam era, so what you have could well be from that time. I don't know what its value would be, but I have not heard of old ones being particularly valuable. They are great chopping tools though! I hope you got a good deal. If taken care of, the tool will work for you for years.
