I've got 2 "2-screw clip" Workers, both with the same serial number (135 of 1000) stamped on the handle by the pivot pin. How is this so?

Ferret - Sorry to disapoint you. 2 screw workers are rare (we made 1200). But we engraved the numbers, they were not stamped. the first 960 were right hand and the last 240 were left hand.

One of our crew saw a Police Model at a gun show in Denver. It had a HUGE Sal Glesser engraved across the entire handle (pretty tacky) and was being sold for $600 as "Sal's personal carry". It's BS. You would probably see a small "sal" somewhere on the blade if it were mine.

"It takes all kinds of animals to make a forrest, without the leeches & mosquitoes, one does not appreciate the hawks & deer".

Perhaps they are engraved (my terminology being loose) - the font and size looks right, is the position right? Number is "0135 of 1000". Both knives are plain edge.
Clip is 2 screw, of primitive design (by today's standards) with "US AND FOREIGN PATS. PEND.".
Blade says "SEKI-JAPAN" on one side, "SPYDERCO-USA" on the other.

I forgot to say thanks for the feedback, does the extra info shed any more or less light?

Ferret - Sounds like they are in fact 2 screw Clipit Workers. Originals. Don't know how the number could be duplicated, unless a human screwed up (that's us) when engraving them. A screw up like that might be a nice caveat as a collector piece. Now you'll have to get one of the 20 year collector Workers when they come out at year end. They will be the last of the Workers.
