Question about zero tolerance knife

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say its fake.

I say that due: to the stamp, blade shape, and the thin stripes.

The stamps says its a 0310...
Which looks like this.

No idea. Waiting for the guy to send it before I trade for it. I had the same feelings. But there are wiser people than me on here. So I thought I would ask.

I don’t know about the blade shape, it looks heavily used with ~15% of the blade gone.

The spine towards the tip is a totally different shape a long with the flats no were near the edge. But I do know what your saying it is a odd shape like it was sharpened way past it’s life span lol . But seriously I don’t think that’s the case unless they used a grinder :D

The lockup looks very late as well. Not to mention the wear on the pocket clip. If it was ever a true 310, only a fraction of it remains.

Do you additional pictures of the knife?

Glad we could help
Here on Bladeforums we can be the best enablers known to mankind when we like a knife :D
But if we don’t we always try to steer our blade brothers far away

I was going to offer that it was heavily modified, but the seller's behavior was too suspect it seems.

Edited: see post #21

It is a guaranteed fake, regardless of wether it was modified or not. Note the picture below, look where the arrow is pointing. That’s where ZT typically marks the model number. The one in question does not match, never seen ZT label them like that.

Not that it matters or that I'd ever recommend buying something as beat up as that, but I'm 99% certain that's not a fake. That's an 0300 series that someone did a horrible blade reshaping job on. ZT absolutely did list the steel and serial number in that spot on those models, and I've not once seen a clone of the 0300 series, let alone one with a modified blade profile. I bet if you got a picture of the spine of the blade, it would show bare steel (indicating that the blade was reshaped).

It looks like someone tried to make an 0300 look more like the 0360 model. Horrible, but not fake.

0310 is the serial number, not a model designation. The early runs appear to have markings looking like this one, with the serial numbers in that spot. Remember that ZT changes their laser markings on knives fairly frequently.

That all being said, avoid this thing like the plague. If you think it looks bad, just think about how poorly it probably functions.
