Question about zero tolerance knives

How easy are they to deploy? I have an emerson and like the wave feature as far as deploying it easily and quickly. Does the zero tolerance have any special feature to assist in opening the blade? Thanks

The 0300 series have flippers and are assisted opening, the 0200s have just a flipper. I'm not sure on the other models. I personally liked the 0300s better than the 0200s.

ps. As far as deployment you should be able to get fairly good with just about any knife if you work with it enough.

Got a ZT0300, a CQC-13 and a couple of waved Spydercos. Nothing opens like a waved knife (the nod going to my Spyderco's believe it or now). That being said, it's not an issue getting the ZT0300 out of my pocket and deployed quickly. Is it as quick as the waved folders, no . . . do I feel it's a detriment to the ZT0300? Definately NOT, the ZT is a bull of a knife that opens hard and is very well made.

I just got an 0200 about a week ago and genuinely like it, prefer the blade shape of the 0200 over the 0300 but it is definitely not the fastest knife to deploy that I have. Its substantial heft and very course exterior does not lend itself well to being drawn from cover out of some types of clothing. But it is one VERY solid, well built, piece and well suited for its use.

The 200 is a great knife, but slower to deploy than the 300 due to the absence of the AO. I think the wave would be faster but I still can get the 300 open quickly.

You guys must be talking about nanosecond differences in speed. :)

I've got a ZT 200 and I've handled the ZT 300 also. The 200 flicks open so fast with a touch on the flipper, I don't bother with the thumbstuds.

The Wave is great but it does not always engage and it's just when you're going for that superfast opening that it will fail.

I've had a 0200 & 0400. The 0200 being manual, but very quick to flip open. The 0400 is an A/O, but not really much quicker than the 0200. Personally, I like the dependability of unassisted knives. Having said that, the 301/302 is an A/O like the 0400, but a Ti frame-lock. I don't think it's any quicker than the other 2, but is stronger.

I like Kershaws in general, but the ZT line is definitely heavier duty. The liner locks on the 0200 & 0400 is fairly thick.

I don't think you'd go wrong with any of them. I kind of prefer the blades on the 0200 & 302/302, though.

I'll jump into the ZT 0200 love-fest :D. I have a pair of 'em...1 plain-edge & 1 part-serrated edge. I can drag one out and flip it open pretty quickly. Buy one, if you're man-enough to carry a large, heavy folder.

i would agree with zt 0200! but then i'm on a zero tolerance bender, must get a 0500 and a 0300 series!!!:D:D:D

I'm tossing in my vote for the ZT200, as I own that and its sibling the ZT400. Both solid knives, but that ZT200 is built like a brickhouse.
