Question about ZT 0560

I recently purchased a ZT 0560

I was just wondering if anyone has encountered any issues with this blade after long EDC/hard use?

I heard something about a 'radiused lockface' issue. Not sure what this means or if it applies to my version of the knife. I believe I have a later model... My serial # is 3407

Any opinions on the hold-up of this knife over time and any possible problems I might encounter?

I haven't seen/heard any issues...and have a ZT0560 I use alot and haven't had an issue..it's a very overbuilt knife..and if I ever had an issue I know ZT will take care of it ASAP..

Only issues I've had were an off-centered blade and a very tight lockup (fixed with graphite). Might need to send it in to get re-centered.

Mine developed lock rock after a few months of use. Sent it in and they replaced the ti lock slab. Mine is numbered 29xx and I there is a considerable improvement compared to the original side. Less machining marks, closer fit between the lock bar and the blade tang. I get the impression that with time and more produced, the better the knife gets all around.

My ZT0560 has been gone for over two months for a sticky lock. After opening the knife, if I squeeze the handle, I cannot unlock it unless I pry the lockbar off the blade. Not sure when I'm gonna get the knife back.

Lock rock is the issue I was fore-warned and concerned about.

Since I am very new to blades... I am curious... What is lock rock?

I hope I do not encounter the problem myself, but since Kershaw/ZT will fix the issue altogether I guess it's not a huge deal.

No lock rock is generally when the blade rocks on the lock when the blade is open.

But the blade tang rocking on the lock is the cause of that blade play. Lock rock.

I have #80, it has been heavily used with no issues what so ever.

The bottom line is use it like it was meant to be used and if you ever have an issue send it in for repair....(IMO) this is a great knife. :)

Rock lock is usually resolved by adding more tension to the lockbar (easy fix).

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Lock rock occurs when the lock-bar face meets the blade tang unevenly.
From reading forums and talking to people this seems to happen more with Ti lock bars.
My reasoning would be that the Ti wears faster than the blade tang.

Wouldn't carbidizing the lock face fix lock rock and sticky lock?

Or would that void the warranty?
