Ok, how many of you use your $2000 grinder to sharpen your pencils?

I prefer a full flat grind, but I've been working on my hollow grinds...

I'm working with N2 stock...What's a good belt for this?

...Speaking of belts I went to my welding suppler and ordered some grinding belts...

I got them freshly spliced and delivered in three days...

The belts are excellent and we are getting a lot of good cutting from them...So far we have only tried the 36 grits and the 120 and 220...Price range is $3.50-$5.50 for 2X72's...

The company name is:
Johnson Industrial Supply Company
2433 S. Cherry Ave.
Fresno, CA 93708
559-233-1822

I don't know if they sell direct, but see if they can direct you to a local source...Or ask your friendly welder!

Yes I did sharpen a pencil for my 7 year old boy, and now I have to sharpen every stick he finds in the yard to torture cats with.

I have a sharpened piece of .125 titanium that i use for a prod on everyone who disobeys my order to DONT TOUCH ANYTHING in my shop...especially my webmaster (hes only 17)...he has to touch everything...and then i have to scurry on the floor looking for 2-56 screws that i have ground to length and turned the heads to fit precision holes perfectly.....he is a big pain in the butt, and therefore, he deserves the pain inflicted upon him....and yes...i sharpen my pencils on it too....I dont know what the belts you are getting have for abrasive.. but the 3M Regal stuff is hard to beat..last 3 times longer than anything else....trugrit carries all sizes...
