Question...Anyone?

What is the purpose of the deeply etched lines I see on some Khukuris. The lines I speak of run near the top of the blade, almost at the spine, from the point the blade bends, on into the handle. Do these lines facilitate the process of bending the blade?

The lines are mostly decorative and have no functional value.

I think that he means the sword of Shiva.

The lines I'm talking about sre deeply etched on both sides of the blade. Don't see them as decorative.
