QUESTION-----ATC LaGana Tactical

They are great. I have three I throw use them for certain yard work, camping, hunting etc. The quality you get for the price is well worth it. Probably have another dozen or more different models in a collection.
Get one and enjoy !

Good Item for brush walking and hanging on a hunting bag. not too heavy(easy to carry) and cuts like a fine knife. Worth every penny IMHO. I've been dragging mine around and using (abusing?) it for a year or so..never fails to do what I ask.

I've had my on the VTAC for awhile now. I'm wondering how well it'll do in bushcraft, chopping splitting wood. Or,is it more of a tactical, breaching tool?

Go out and use it.

If you want to learn how it wants to be used for such, it'll work. I've been learning that you can get by with just about anything sharp. it might not work like the thing everyone tells you that you "need", but you can learn a way to make it work for you.

The factory edge is more for cutting sheet metal or bashing through stuff. Like bones and skulls. It's really not an effective breaching tool (although it does a passable job) because it's too light. There isn't enough mass to make an effective tool for real breaching.

You can regrind it, or send it to the factory for an edge thinning and it's a passable bushcraft tool.

I used mine in Iraq for a multitude of purposes. Including using it as an intimidation tool when meeting with the locals. I'd go in with no rifle, just a pistol and my VTAC. It always got the attention of whom ever I was meeting with. Some wanted to check it out as a bit of Americana...most were afraid of it though.

Overall, it's one of the best GP tactical tools you could have though. I'd give it an A+ .....

Besides if you break it, Andy will replace it. He's already got one of mine that separated at the head while putting the spike through kevelar helmets.

Is there a point to the blade being flat? The edge I mean.Instead of being curved like a normal axe/hawk.I would think it would be better for slicing cuts with a curved edge instead of the straight edge.
I didn't mean to hijack your thread WILLIAM.M but I figured since this is a thread asking questions about the VTAC I didn't want to start another thread along the same lines.

most of the time it was in the factory sheath, attached to my day pack. Sometimes i would just tuck into my belt or under the velcro covers for my m4 mag pouches.
