Question - Benefit of "vaquero" blade profile

Cold Steel isn't a qualifying topic for the Traditional section, moving to General Knife Discussion. If you open some threads and look at what is considered a traditional pocket knife versus what Cold Steel offers, you can see a pretty stark difference.

The purpose of the recurve blade shape is to direct the media being cut into the curve allowing the blade to put more concentrated force resulting in more efficient and smoother cutting performance.

What Silvanus said. Recurve blades are good at cutting and the Vaquero is designed for a cutting role. Cold Steel's serrations turn it into a virtual buzz saw when it hits material or flesh. On the other hand I don't think it's the best utility blade shape.
