From LEFT to RIGHT:
Are they arranged Type One ; Type Two,
or re they arranged Type Two ; Type One?

More than likely I have it wrong, but I think the loop is type one.

Is the current nylon sheath considered Type 3?

I think they went back and forth and produced with overlap. The nylon is usually seen in the clam packs at a certain large retailer. I think to justify the low price.

The oldest and current leather ones have the folded over loop. The loop that is flat was only used briefly.

Just my observations someone may have dates associated with tge different ones.

In this particular case, the folded over loop is August, 2021. (came with August, 2021 Web Special) The flat loop is June, 2019 ("distressed leather" that came with SK Blades "The Gentleman" SFO.)

If my memory is working properly, I believe the 110's my friends in Jr. High and High School (1970 ~1974 time frame) had, came with a folded over loop sheath.
I'm of the opinion that dating a Buck 110, at least, by the sheath isn't accurate, at all, at all. Sheaths can be easily changed after purchase; Buck is more than happy to sell you a new factory leather sheath of whichever style/type they have in stock when you order one, not to mention what you can find on ePrey and other sites. Also, Buck seems to switch back and forth between the folded over and flat loops, at will, probably at least once during any given year, based on what style they have on hand. :)

The current 110 custom shop sheath is the nylon. At least it was last time I looked a month or so ago. A leather sheath was a $10 extra cost option.

The situation for dating the knife by the factory sheath may be different for the non-folding 100 series. I don't know.

I like the made in Mexico sheath belt loop better. more so its stiffer leather, and smaller loop but still big enough to fit my 1.5" belt with some room. i also really like the nylon sheath.

the newer made in america ones are good. but the after leather i tend to stretch out the loop catching on stuff and I sweat here as its hot and it just isn't my favorite.

now the made on America black and Confederate grey:) sheaths I got from Mak. these are best of both worlds.

Agreed.
The leather USA sheaths seem to stretch out and become loose.
I wish those USA nylon sheaths would become more available.
I almost prefer the nylon sheaths as brass doesn't tarnish as much, and they seem to wear well.
