I was looking on the chris reeve website and found that they dont have a price for refurbishing handles. I noticed they went up on price on everything. does anyone know if they still do this and how much does it cost??????

The website says that they still offer refurbishing, but you must contact customer service to inquire about pricing.

Best to E mail Heather for pricing. One thing to keep in mind is if you want the screws bead blasted or not. I sent them one and it came back with the screws done, No big deal , but something to decide before hand.

well I contacted CRK and the price went up, it used to be 27.50 for sandblasting handles or retumble blade. now is 30.00, thats 2.50 difference. I think it would be cool if they added shipping with it.

Shipping cost me 18 dollars for shipping plus insurance. This was in a pretty small box.

30 dollars is very reasonable for the labor and time involved. Easily 45 minutes to disassemble, clean, refinish, lube, reassemble, package and then ship back out.

While it is there you can also get a factory edge put on at no charge if you desire. I would guess that they make little or no money on these services-just trying not to loose, but that is just my guess.
Personally, I don't know if I would send a knife in to have the scales reblasted again. I sort of like th worn look and with it you no longer worry about scratches. If you get it bead blasted it is just going to get scuffed again.

$18? Get those flat-rate Priority boxes from USPS, they give them out for free. Shipping costs $5 and add another $7 for insurance and tracking.

I UPSed it. Always try to do that shipping to businesses. Or something I consider really valuable.
