Question - factory or not?

You guys inspired me to get a BK16. I found a used one the previous owner had stripped and forced a patina on. When I took the scales off I found this lines/scratches. Are these from the manufacturing process or a gift from the previous owners stripping process?

I don't know for sure but I'd be willing to bet that the marks are from the factory. I've never seen marks exactly like those but still I'm pretty sure they are tool marks.

I believe those are straightening marks... They are definitely from the factory, don't worry about them.

Yup, factory. Things found under the scales, including bells and whistles are seen as things that'll be under the scales. It won't hurt the knife or prevent you from using the hell out of it. Enjoy!
