Question for all you kydex bending hogs...

I'm seriously considering getting into kydex making. I have a question though about what kind of press do you use to mold the kydex and also what kind of foam do you use? I was considering making a press and i have access to a wide range of woodworking tools:thumbup: to work with, but no metal working or welding tools:thumbdn:.

My hope is that if i get good enough at kydex, i can esll seaths to help support my infi addiction.

Jens Anso has a detailed tutorial on his forum at the USN, if you wander over there. He and Tom Krein make some of the finest kydex of any knifemakers I know.

My Sheaths may not be the prettiest but I've gotten better with each Busse. I use either an old book press or a large bench vise with flat jaws and a hard cell foam (cut in half self healing archery target).

I read those tutorials and then realize I'm far better off hiring that job out. I'm not that skilled or patient in a medium as burnable as kydex.
