Was the Case Cutlery 334 variation of the 7" leather handled fighting knife, ever officially issued by a branch of the U.S. Military like the Ka-Bar 1217?
 
No. The story goes that there were two knives discovered back in the 80's that Case had made as prototypes only. These knives seem to occasionally change hands among a small group of collectors who are willing to pay the going price for them.
