Since we all know what we collect. What kind of blades inspired you? Do you still have some maker you scurry about to collect like most of the hogs on this board so with your blades? Or did you start making knives cause there simply wasn't anything out there that performed the way you wanted? Is there a maker out there other than you that's making a blade you would grab if something bad happened? Assuming of course a Battle Mistress or some such blade wasn't handy.
Just curious to know if there is some steel you collect for some reason. Function, form or collector value.

I started making my own knives because there were no large knives available back then, other than the Western Bowie.

I really don't collect anyone else's blades but am a big fan of well made fixed blades. I am drawn to knife designs with rounded lines and do not care for angular lines.

I also hear that he likes long walks on the beach, and his turn ons are drinks with little umbrellas and hot pink mu-mus.:p :D

Thanks, Jerry. Just imagine if someone was making what you were looking for then. All the hogs here would have a different hobby now that sucks up all their paychecks. :D
Oh and I suppose I should thank the peanut gallery for their responses. ;)
(Notice how I say the hogs and use the word they. Is that denial? Eh screw it... NO REGRETS!!! )

Les,
Not a killing field, just chasing you into the tundra so I can pilfer your INFI!!

Funny thing about knife makers, I have never met one that liked making sheaths. I think Jerry's plan to let the sheath pros take over that area is a good move. I have had knives that fit MY particular hand better than some of my Busse knives have BUT a knife is a cutting tool and given the choice between aboslute comfortable grip and crappy steel/bad edge design VS pretty good grip, GREAT steel and very good edge.... well, you know!! I am looking forward to trying out the new Fusion line in...(never mind)

Hey Shag where you been? I thought you were going to flake out
on us like BB did! Good to hear you're still around!! By the
way if you had to choose which would come first, Beaujoulis or
Teq?

OK Jerry, here is another question for you along the same lines. What is your least favorite part about the knife making process?

Glad to know someone is out there....even though you are 3 hours behind. I'm in my hometown visting...just got in from disco-ing....Okay that's not a fair question. I like them both but if I had to choose I would choose the beaujoulis!!!
