Question for Carson Owners

I'm trying to decide between the medium and small Model 4's. Kit's website describes the small and the large. The large has .060 thick liners and a 5/32" thick blade. The small has .050 thick liners and a 1/8" blade.
What does the medium have? Is is a scaled-down large or a stretched-out small?
Thanks, and please feel free to give me your opinions on the two sizes (med and small). I need to make this decision by tomorrow!!!
Thanks,
Paul

Paul,
I'm not a owner of one but I can answer your question:)
The medium's blade is .135-.140 thick, normally. The liners are .060 or thicker. If you copy the large Model 4 and scale it down 27% that would be the small version. Half way in between is the medium version.

I was hoping you'd see this thread! Thanks a bunch, Kit. That makes the decision easier. Medium it is.

Paul,
Those model 4's are all no good.
As a favor, send em to me, I'll give ya $100 apiece for them just cause we're friends. :D

...send um to me and I'll give ya $50 a piece, and I don't even know ya...lol

Looks like you've got some 'friends' here Kit... :p ;)

The Carson medium M4 is just about the perfect size (approx 3.5" blade, 8.25" OAL) for a EDC folder. I liked the medium M4 so much I got another with a different blade style. I've got relatively small hands but the small is just too small for me - still looks great though :D.

BTW If anybody has a medium Carson with a fighter blade you can ruin my bank balance...

Some new maker I guess. I'd give him a few more years before he hits the big-time

Hopefully he'll get faster Dex...I hear it takes two years to get one of his knives ;)

i e-mailed mr carson, and asked what took so long to get one of his knives. he said he had to lay off several employees at his factory in china. ;) :D

Hopefully in time he'll get better:

PS-wait till you see the one he sent me yesterday, havent had time to take a pic yet.

BTW, the knives in the post above are not mine, I do own the pic though.
I have a few model 4's, which are my favorite, and this one came in the mail yesterday, not bad for an old guy.

Dave,

That is sweet! Sure makes me jealous, though. I have a medium M4 with clip point and jigged bone scales on order from Kit. Been about 13-14 months now. Hopefully mine's not far behind. Seeing this pic sure makes me happy I chose the materials I did!

Dave

Thanks for the compliments guys but you're reading this all wrong. Kit's knives are no good, really, so just give me your spot in line on his waiting list and I'll take care of it for you, it's the least I can do.
Seriously, Kit's knives are slicker than snot on a doorknob :D
Larry B picked this one at the Vegas show, but he didnt keep it long:

D2 and micarta, this is one of the stoutest and smoothest folders I've seen.

In case there was any question that Kit was a Kaintuckey hillbilly, notice you can't see his other hand and that silly grin on Dexter's face:

Hmmmm, I'm starting to hear the music from Deliverance. Suuueeeeeeeey!

lifter, the jigged bone #4 sure looks sweet.

About the photo of Kit and Dexter. That's too funny!!!! When I fist saw the pic, I thought it was a handicapped pocket pool match with Kit using one hand!!!! Big D1
