My next khukuri is going to be an 18 " Chitlangi, and I would very much appreciate your input as per the best kami for this incredible khukuri and why. Thank you very much! Dan :)

I think Sanu and Kesar used to make chitlangis that everyone got excited about.

I have no basis of comparison for this knife among different kami's. I can only say that Amtrak, who made my 21" Chitlangi did a beautifully detailed job. The first thing I happen to check on these when I get them is the line down the back of the blade, which is one of the hardest things to keep uniform. The Amtrak Chitlangi and Siru I have from him both keep this line very straight and have a wonderful balance to them.

Just my .02¢ worth.

Svashtar

Sher, because you will supposedly get an almost convex edge, whatever that is.
I would really like to see one of Sher's edges so as to know what an almost convex edge looks like. Another reason is that Sher builds a more robust khuk.:D

All of the kamis at BirGhorka are excellent, and each makes a different khukuri... Who is noted for the most alive and light Chitlangi? I have a nice Kumar GS, so I want something even faster and livlier. :) Thanks. Dan:)

Drdan, I have three Chitlangi's, an 18" and a 21" wood handled ones by Sher and an 18" horn handled one by Bura. The Bura is much lighter and quicker than the Sher, but then Sher is noted for his beefy khuks. All three are beautiful.

Thanks crooked knife for the input; now I have it broken down to only 6 kamis. ;) I'm proabably going to go with the kami who is known for the lightest and quickest, but knowing me, will probably get several; each forged by a different kamis. My favorite khukuri is probably the Chitlangi, and then the GS. My first Chitlangi will be an 18", and then I'm sure I go for the 21"... Thanks again. Dan:)

I might be looking for an 18 sometime in the future. Make sure you compare it to yer GS. when you get it.

That's funny, Yvsa, you're wanting to this thing called an "almost convex edge."
