Question for Chris re: SOG Team Leader versions

Hi Chris.

I just picked up the latest version of the team leader. It has Aus-8 steel and a nylon sheath. It appears to have a bead blast or very matte satin finish.

I was wondering how many other variants of the Team Leader there are?

I know there is the serrated top version with a high sheen satin finish and a Duratech 20CV version with a bead blast finish. Is there also a 440C version with a higher sheen satin finish and leather sheath?

Quick question also on the history of this knife. The Team Leader was originally a folder right?

There are three versions
1 - AUS8 like the one you have
2 - Duratech - looks similar to the one you have
3 - 440C version with the saw back

I think the one you are thinking of might be the Field Knife that has very similar handles but with different blade shape.

Originally it was a folder but we only made like 100 of those and that was right at the beginning of the company founding about 24 years ago.
