With the rise in popularity in 4"ish bushcraft knives, why not bring back the mini bushman? Maybe call it the Bushman Bushcraft. My old mini can run with the Tops BOB, the offerings from Condor, etc etc. I have a convexed edge on mine. It will out slice any scandi hands down.

Heck, you could even paracord wrap the handle, and put it in a sized down sheath like the Outdoorsman Lite's, and it would sell for a street price of $30-$40 all day long.

There is a definite market for it. Just seems curious that Cold Steel is not looking to tap in to it.

Doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. Mine works just fine and see no reason to have two. ;)

He will be turning 10 soon. It will be his first knife. In a perfect world, I would be able to get him a Mini Bushman, and wrap the handle like I did the one in the photo. But it looks like it will be a Mora or a Survival Edge for him. Most likely a Survival Edge.

Well, I want in on this. My Mini Bushman is of an age that it came in that odd leather sheath with the single long belt loop on the back...like the one at the top of this page http://blog.coldsteel.com/2011/11/december-facebook-competition.html) It sometimes takes me a week or more to get the transportation gods hyped-up in order to get to the post office ( meaning...fit into my daughter's schedule), but if you want to pay the postage, and can wait a week or two....he can have mine. It's not new, but close to it. I have been chomping at the bit to give my grandson a knife, but he is only 5 1/2 and it is still a bit soon ( tho' my dad the butcher claims I cut my teeth, literally, on his pocket knife...and my mom backs him up) I had my own pocketknife at age 7, but that was then, this is now, when kids are suspended for bringing a butter knife to school, in order to spread butter ....ON THEIR CRACKERS....HELLO?

Anyhow, if you want to work something out so he (I don't know his name) can have this mini Bushman, send me an email at jmongoose69@yahoo.com ....no obligation, naturally, if you want to give him something different, but if you want the knife for him...let me know.

Regards, John in Boise

I'd love it if they did bring it back, I'd buy three, or possibly more! I like the simplicity of the Bushman but would prefer one in a smaller size, and I never got a chance to get the smaller one before they were gone. Please bring it back Cold Steel!!

That is a great gesture. I would not feel right unless I paid you something for the knife as well. Send me your email, and a Price you feel is fair for you, as well as how you would like to receive payment, and I will get it to you. I don't have pm. His name is Isiah.

Ok, 10 bucks for the knife and 5 bucks for shipping, and a week or so to get it shipped, and call it a done deal. Use this for Paypal jmongoose69@yahoo.com Tell Isiah to use it responsibly and in good health. ;')

I would buy the Twistmaster in a HEARTBEAT. a HEARTBEAT.

...and a few mini bushman blades as well :D

There are generally several on ebay. I have a Carbon V Large clip point, in good shape if you want to talk, shoot me an email jmongoose69@yahoo.com

I did look on ebay and you are correct....there are some there. For most, the bidding started around $38. Some are already in the $75-$90 range.

I like the large clip but actually prefer the "leaf" pattern blade they once offered.

Thank you for the offer, I'll consider it while checking on finances needed from my next pay :)

I would like to get one for my boy who is about to get his totin' chip

I remember when I was starting scouts. One if not the best things I have ever done in my life. I almost got Eagle (18 now). Anyway I remember when I got my Totin chip my first knife was a Buck 55 and shortly after I got a fixed blade for camping. I believe it was a Mora in carbon steel which to me was the best knife in the world it did everything I wanted the knife to do. Believe me he will be overjoyed and from a fellow scout I would like to say good on you for getting him a good knife to begin what will be a journey for the both of you.

No sweat, no pressure. Do what you need to do. I've been thinking about selling some of these knives I've had for 20 years or more and can't recall the last time I used'em. As I said, this is large, 4 7/8 " blade , with the long clip point, in terrific condition, and very dark patina. no corrosion/rust. Edge is like new, but I seem to recall intentionally cutting a lot of fruit.I'm not sure if I ever had a sheath but if I did, its long gone . I'm thinking 40 bucks including Paypal, and maybe 5 bucks for shipping.

I love the bushman series of knives. Simplicity at its best. I have 3 mini bushmans and still will buy or would buy more if CS would get off their ass and start making them again!! Love them knives. I really can't think of a knife that I've gotten more enjoyment out of ! And guess what? It didn't cost an arm and a leg ta get it!
