For those of you who collect every variant of a particular knife (PM2s, Grips, whatever)...how do you react when a new one drops? Are you more excited or are you like “crap..gotta get another one”? Or does it depend on what it is? Are you more excited for like the DLT PM2 than another S30V variation? Just curious.

I used to collect PM2's and Millies. I had all of the PM2's, including four in S90V. Once I had 'em, the thrill was gone. I sold them all...never looked back. I have often purchased two or three or more of the same folder...one that I have admired for a long time. But very seldom anymore. My knife collection could hardly be called that anymore. I miss some of those knife models still...

I'm always excited to get another variation of a knife model I already have. If I felt like "crap...gotta get another one", I don't think I'd get that one. I would never buy something I don't really want.

Since I don't "collect" any of the newer knives (i.e., made since around 2000), I don't need to worry about that "a new one just came out" feeling.

Now if a 1930s to 1950s era Western fixed blade or a 1700s to 1950s bayonet or 1800s faschinenmesser that is not in my possession pops up, I'm all over them like a chicken on a june bug.

For me it's different size knives, or a 'family' of knives. I have all except for the XL in the Recon 1 series, and I'm looking forward to owning a PM2/3 in S110v someday
