I'm wondering why it was decided to go with .125 (1/8") stock for the Sebenza blades. I assume that you (and most all knife makers for that matter) feel that this has the optimum strength to weight ratio.
Would there be any strength benefits of going to 5/32" or .150 or .130 stock, particularly in the large Sebenza which has a longer blade? Or do you feel the strenght of the blade is already more than sufficient?
Just curious as to why .125 is so often the stock of choice in folders.
Thanks in advance and especially thanks for making such wonderful knives.

I think 1/8" is just fine, and to go any thicker would surely be overkill. There have been times where I wish my Sebenza's blade was actually thinner, because sometimes it feels thick. 1/8" for a folder is perfect for a folder and if anything it should be thinner, IMO.
